A 9 pin USB Serial convertor that actually works!

9 Pin Serial sockets on PCs are very rare these days. You may find the odd one on a desktop but they no longer exist on laptops. But equipment that uses a 9 pin serial connection still exists. So what do you do?

Buy a 9 pin serial USB serial convertor. This plugs into your USB socket and creates a virtual com port allowing you to plug your 9 pin interface into the other end.

Unfortunately the market is absolutely filled with cheap USB serial convertors that are useless. They use cheap or fake chipsets and circuits that partially work or not at all. If you've already been down that path you will know what we're talking about.
