The new range of USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394a (Firewire 400) products, allow users to have both USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394a connection types on one PCI Card and 5.25 / 3.5 Bay depending on model. Running at 480 Mbps the USB connection is slightly faster than the Firewire connection, but both have there different uses.
