Scarce edition of 1658 of this ionteresting work about priests written by the french theologist Louis Abelly (1603-1691) bishop of Rodez. Abelly was cooperator of San Vincenzo de Paoli.
The work is divided into five parts: the carachteristics needed for priests, functions, virtues, temptations, spiritual mediums.
Among the issues treated: priest state, benefit of vocation, aim of vocation, functions in general, offices, study of oration, meditations, administration of sacraments, perfection, charity, divine glory, prudence, mortification of christians, imitation of Christ.

Rara edizione del 1658 di questa interessante opera sui sacerdoti scritta dal teologo francese Louis Abelly (1603-1691) vescovo di Rodez. Abelly fu collaboratore di San Vincenzo de Paoli.
L'opera è divisa in cinque parti: i requisiti dei sacerdoti, le funzioni, le virtù, le tentazioni, i mezzi spirituali.
Tra gli argomenti trattati: stato sacerdotale, beneficio della vocazione, scopo e fine della vocazione, grazie, funzioni in genere, uffici, studio dell'orazione, meditazioni, amministrazione dei sacramenti, perfezione, carità, gloria divina, prudenza, modestia, mortificazione dei cristiani, imitazione di Cristo.
