0142 Overhaul of Fordson N tractor. For many wartime farms the arrival of a Fordson N was their first encounter with tractors and their servicing. This films takes a novice driver through the work needed to keep the tractor running properly. . Even today it offers valuable confirmation of what is needed in the way of tools components and skill.
0462 Bosnian Blacksmith at work. Very unusual film. A group of rural blacksmiths in their workshop. The forges were burning charcoal they made them selves and the hammers were driven by waterwheels. Girders were split by chisel and sledgehammer. Main output was cooking pots and edge tools. For selling they loaded the pots on to donkeys and set off for town,. As far as I could tell this was a commercial operation that had just not up dated and was not any form of heritage workshop for tourists and as such the film is a valuable record of a way of life that has now gone.
0025 This film was made as a form of newsreel for an agricultural audience.
