About our Artificial Flowers

Artificial Flowers are a great and often more cost-effective alternative to real flowers.
Amongst the many benefits are pollen-free, hypoallergenic enjoyment (great for hay-fever and allergy sufferers), no watering required, guaranteed to brighten up any dark corner without dying, no drooping, no withering, no falling heads.

'Silk flowers' are usually made from synthetic fabrics such as various kinds of polyester as found in clothing, a textile called 'micro peach', velvet, and other types of fabric, but even some foam flowers are sometimes referred to as 'silk'. 'Silk' in that case really refers to the flowers' silky appearance, not to the actual material itself.
All our flowers are also made from synthetic fabrics. Some of the main reasons for using synthetic fabrics, rather than a natural one such as real silk, is that they are more durable, allow for better retention of their shape, they are also washable and do not fade as quickly in sunlight - not to mention that they are also cheaper.
So although there may be more expensive and purportedly more realistic alternatives available, synthetic flowers will in most cases offer you the best possible overall value.

Wired stems and branches (plastic coated) on almost all our products ensure that you can re-arrange your artificial flower arrangements, bushes and 'silk' plants as you like and make them even more attractive.

Flower bushes, arrangements and plants have a single joint stem at the bottom that can be used to easily plant the arrangement or put it into a vase, but you can also use wirecutters to separate them into individual branches if desired.

Flower and greenery garlands are available either wired (allowing for more rigidity and retention of shape) or non-wired (sometimes easier to wrap around poles). If not mentioned in the description you should assume that the garland isn't wired, but you are welcome to double check with us if necessary. Most garlands come in standard lengths, but you can consider cutting them apart or chaining them together to create all kinds of different lengths.

Thanks to the materials, most items are waterproof and can thus be used outdoors as well. You only need to be aware that colours may slowly begin to fade if the artificial flowers are exposed to strong direct sunlight for extended periods of time, pretty much what you would reasonably expect from many other fabrics as well.

To get the most out of your purchase we recommend firstly arranging them properly after unpacking as they may be packed tighter to reduce packaging waste and delivery cost.
Any further maintenance? Well, maybe dust your flowers when doing your regular cleaning, but at least you won't need to do watering and pruning!

Packaging and Recycling

All our products are delivered boxed to give them the protection they deserve. To further reduce the risk of damage, boxes may be custom built to better fit the size and shape of your order contents.
Our products are originally supplied in wholesale packaging with multiple identical items per box, which would be wasted when repackaging to smaller, often single-item orders. To reduce this impact on the environment, we try to reuse as much as possible, so we ask for your kind consideration if you receive a box that is clearly not 'brand new' - but you may rest assured that the flowers are.
We hope that you will find an opportunity to further reuse or otherwise recycle the cardboard and other packaging material. For example, did you know that cardboard is fantastic for your garden compost once you've removed all the staples and tape?
