The fascinating story of Isabella Bird’s travels in the Rocky Mountain area of Colorado in 1873 where her guide was a fellow named Mountain Jim and her transportation was a borrowed pony named Birdie. This true adventure story was first published in a genteel British weekly in 1878, in the form of letters to her sister, and was first published in book form in 1879, from which time it has undergone many reprints and editions.
