This listing is for a wonderful antique miniature Vienna Bronze "Eaglets in Nest" figurine by Bergman, marked, c. 1900 .

This adorable figurine has beautiful realistic details and features. Enameled with cold painted technique (a naturalistic finish created by painting the new bronze with special enamel colors). As the process was often applied to the bronze casting while still warm, the natural shrinkage on cooling added to the permanency of the color as it set the paint firmly into the metal.

 In the late 19th century a number of bronze foundries situated in Vienna and the Austrian/Bohemian border began to specialize in the technique of the cold painting patination process and thousands of these adorable novelty figurines were made and collected. 

The figurine is in excellent condition with no dents or dings. Very minor paint loss (see photos) - no other noted flaws. 

Measures 1" high and 2" in diameter.

Marked "AUSTRIA" with "Urn" stamp with "B" inside which is the trademark of Bergman.
