Chevy GM 7" Dual Disc/Drum Power Booster Bail Top Master Cylinder & Brkts CHROME

This is a brand new 7" Dual CHROME brake booster with Chrome Bail Top Master Cylinder, CHROME Disc/Drum Proportioning Valve Kit, and all CHROME Mounting Brackets. This high quality kit has a beautiful chrome finish and will really improve your brake performance.  This 7" Dual diaphragm booster offers 19% better stopping power over the single 7" booster, and is ideal for most small to mid size street rods and customs.  The booster mounts with a 4-bolt pattern.  The 4 bolts are in a perfect square and are 3 3/8" apart (center to center).

This Kit is designed to work with the following Applications:

  • 1964-1972 Buick GS. Chevy Chevelle, Monte Carlo, Malibu. Oldsmobile Cutlass, Cutlass 442. Pontiac Tempest, GTO
  • 1967-1978 Chevy Camaro
  • 1967-1969 Pontiac Firebird.
  • 1968-1974 Chevy Nova. Pontiac Ventura
  • 1969-1972 Pontiac Grand Prix

The master cylinder in this kit is also all chrome. It is the bail top style, and features a 1" bore.  This master cylinder will work with any drum/drum, disc/drum, or disc/disc setup.  THIS SETUP IS DESIGNED FOR DISC/DRUM APPLICATIONS.

This includes a disc/drum proportioning valve kit (self adjusting valve and bracket to mount kit to the side of the master cylinder).

The proportioning valve has a great CHROME finish.  This valve is also call a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion.  These functions include the following:

  • Proportioning:

As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear.  This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up.

  • Metering:

Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up.  This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear.  There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup.

  • Residual Pressure:

Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. to be held in the line.  This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel.  The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure.

  • System Failure Switch:

This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly.

Additionally this Kit includes the necessary Mounting Brackets/Rod/Clevis for any of the above applications.
