Description of the whole FRM220 chassis system
FRM220-CH20 is a 20 slot chassis for fiber optic media converters. Any FRM220 series media converter can be inserted in an FRM220-CH20 chassis. All FRM220 series media converters sold by sales_fo4all on eBay support the FRM220-CH20 chassis installation by simple metal cover removing and sliding the card converters into the main chassis. Currently supported line cards include Ethernet to fiber converters for 10/100Base-TX, or 10/100/1000Base-TX over multimode fiber (up to 2 km), single mode fiber (up to 120 km) or utilizing WDM (up to 40 km). WDM (Wave Division Multiplexing) converts each input-output data stream into separate wavelengths of light and transmits/receives these channels through the same optical fiber. There is alos a good selection of 10G rate transponder cards. Besides, FRM220 line cards can also support G.703 E1/T1, Datacom (V35, X.21, RS530/ 449/ 232) and Serial (RS485/ 422/ 232) data communication interfaces over fiber.

General features of the FRM220-CH20 chassis:

The FRM220-CH20 chassis has 3 major parts:

• FRM220-CH20 - metal chassis frame (accepts 2 power supply units and NMC management card system) - the chassis can be loaded with up to 20 media converters from the FIB1 series     family (any of the media converters supplied by sales_fo4all on eBay can be installed in the FRM301 chassis)
• FRM220-AC - AC 90-260V power supply for FRM220-CH20. If the redundancy power supply protection feature needs to be enabled, two power supply units must be ordered for each chassis. One nice feature is the ability to mix AC and DC power supply units on a single FRM220-CH20 chassis.
• FRM220-DC48 - DC 36-72V power supply for FRM220-CH20
• FRM220-NMC - management module that offers web/SNMP/telnet management features for centralized monitoring of the fiber media converters. The NMC card comes with MIB files easy to compile into an existing central NMS(Network Management System).
