ADVICE FOR BUYERS OF ART

Art Buyers need to know what they are, or are not, getting when they are buying art. Original art has been created by the hand of the artist. This includes paintings and prints, printed from plates or silk screens, created by the hand of the artist. Digitally printed art, and offset lithographs, are not original art, only reproductions of art and have little value.

Original works of art are not normally purchased for decoration, such as to match the carpeting, drapes, etc. Each piece of original art should be viewed as a person and thus stand alone without regard for being a part of the decorating. Each piece of art should be framed to complement the art and hung on the wall wherever you want to view it. Any style of art may hang next to whatever other piece of art you want.

When inviting guests to your home, you don’t provide them with color samples so they match the  sofa or other decor. Each of them stands alone as should each piece of fine art you hang on the wall. Many designers and art dealers are recommending art to compliment the decor. This should not be how you select and hang fine art. Each piece should stand alone and be enjoyed accordingly.

BI-RHOMBS

"Bi-Rhombs" is a pencil signed and numbered serigraph by Internationally Renowned artist Victor Vasarely. The image size is 33" X 17" plus full margins. This print is in a flawless state of preservation and has not been framed or mounted. The second framed photo is in my home. I know this is not a prize winning picture but it does show how beautiful this print is framed and on the wall.

"Bi-Rhombs" was published in 1977 in an edition of 250. Each piece in the edition is pencil signed and numbered by the artist. The retail list price of "Bi-Rhombs" was $2,750.00 when last available. As the exclusive International publisher and distributor of the edition of these prints, I will provide the Buyer of this piece with an original Certificate of Authenticity.

Born in Pecs Hungary in 1908 of French nationality, Vasarely is the acknowledged creator of the Optical Art Movement. His innovations in color and optical illusion have had a major impact on all successive generations of artists.

Vasarely has received numerous prestigious awards and honors and has created monumental sculptures and murals. Vasarely's works are in virtually every museum in the world that has a collection of contemporary art. Two museums in France are devoted exclusively to his work.
