The lady I bought the topper from told me that had been the wedding topper for her parents' wedding cake. The date of the wedding is written in black felt pen, black grease pencil, or similar on the box: "4/9/59 Wedding Cake Top - Mom and Dad" as seen in one of the photos.
This large, substantial cake topper is 9 1/2" tall. The topper is shown next to a ruler, and it appears a bit smaller due to a "fish eye" effect or similar. The overall maximum width represented by the arbor is 6 1/2" and the base diameter is 4 1/4".
The cake topper is beautifully made and decorated. With the nicely hand painted bride and groom, the decorative touches, and the impressive size, this is one of the very nicest cake toppers we have had.
Condition:
The cake topper is in excellent condition with the exception of some discoloration / color variation on the composite material on the base as seen. The box is in fair condition with some overall wear and tear including some scotch tape reinforcements like those shown in the photos.
