Rare copy of the third edition (the most valuable for the amount of illustrations contained herein) Of the famous De la Pirotechnia of Vannoccio Biringuccio from Siena.
This work, in the first edition printed in Venice in 1540, is considered the first treaty ever on metallurgy, and it is the main minerals that their use, arts dell'oreficieria, glassware, sculpture, mint and mineral extraction themselves. Vannoccio Vincenzio Austino Luca Biringuccio (Siena 1480-1539?) Was one of the greatest masters of metallurgy and fusion of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. He was responsible for an iron mine near Siena, head of brand and Arsenal. Also he directed the work of fusion to make cannons for Venice and Florence. In 1538, shortly before his death, he became head of the foundry in Rome and apostolic director of the artillery factory papal arsenal
