CARGO – Front Side, Back Side. Anazitisi Records ARLP 60-61F. Greek release. SEALED NEW VINYL RECORD ALBUM. This edition issued in 2014. Limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl and 100 copies on color vinyl; I believe this is a black vinyl copy. Comes in an outer clear mylar sleeve with flap, sealed with clear label sticker. MEMBERS: Bruce Oxley (lead guitar), Mike Proudfoot (guitar, piano), Garth Vagan (bass), and Norm Foster (drums and percussion) with Frank Nakashima (flute on Alisa). TRACKS: Black Window, Talk With Us, Child Of The Playroom, I Found A Way, Dubious, Alisa, Habits And Jail, Only My Best Friends, and Say Goodbye. DESCRIPTION: This is the first ever reissue. Toronto, Canada based psychedelic quartet began as the Prophets in the mid-60's. Then they renamed themselves The City Suite and finally settled on Cargo. As Cargo they released two LPs and two 7" singles before they split up in 1971; dreamy psychrock with some mild-jazzy atmospheric improvisations and a couple of spoken mayhem freak-out passages coming between the tracks. This now very rare debut album was originally released in 1969 on Merv Buchanan's Trend label, also responsible for the Bent Wind LP. The original basement recording was not what one would consider to be state of the art to begin with (think of the Bent Wind LP) and also proved to be impossible for Merv to locate the original master-tapes. As a result, this reissue has been remastered from two unearthed mint vinyl copies, a warts and all kinda thing, though much time was spent in the studio in making the best possible transfer for this edition. That aside, with the rarity of the original this lovingly assembled reissue edition will make a fine addition to any collection. This edition includes one extra track taken from their first single (also on Trend). Licensed by Buchanan and made with the help of the original Cargo members. Includes a reproduction of the original cover art with a fully laminated cover and a two-page LP-sized insert with short bio, photos, and lyrics. Limited to 300 black and 100 coloured copies, both pressed on 180g vinyl as usual.

All LPs are removed from their jackets and placed outside of the jacket for shipping. If an album comes sealed (and will be noted as such in the above description), it will be shipped whole unless you request that I open it up to place the disc outside of the jacket for shipping. Both jacket and disc are placed inside of an outer plastic sleeve before packing for shipping. I use professional corrugated record mailers.

MIX: This sometimes appears in my title line and refers to a group's/artist's music having a mix of styles such a rock track with jazz then followed by a straight rock track followed by a psych rock track, etc., as opposed to a blues album with the album's tracks having predominantly one style.

RETURN POLICY:

Please e-mail me with specific details and I will get back to you with your options. I ask that if there is a problem with the item that you contact me as soon as possible after receiving it. Any item that must be returned is done so at the buyer’s expense. Any refund, exchange, or substitution/credit will be at the buyer’s choice, but not made until the original item is received back by me; in the condition as stated in the item description.

NON-ARRIVAL OF PACKAGES:

US Customers: Please wait at least two weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. All packages are shipped with confirmation/tracking, you will received an automatically generated shipping notice from Ebay e-mail with your tracking number. It has been several years since I’ve had a package not make its US destination, so risk is minimal.

INTERNATIONAL Customers: Please wait at least 3 weeks from my confirmed shipping date before contacting me about the non-arrival of your package. If security is your concern please have your package registered (see above for fee). I do my best to quickly post packages, but once the package is in the hands of the world’s postal system it is beyond my control. With First-Class Package International Service my only option for investigating the loss of your package is to verify that it left this country to its destination country. Most all delayed/lost packages have disappeared/been delayed after they have reached their destination country. NOTE: Based on recent buyer feedback, International packages have been moving much slower these days; it is not unusual for a package to take over three weeks for delivery, though normally packages should arrive in 7 to 15 business days.
