BUSHMAN'S REVENGE, Even Helte Hermansen (Gitarre), Rune Nergaard (Bass) und Gard Nilssen (Drums), wurden als das fehlende Glied zwischen ALBERT AYLER, BLACK SABBATH und einer marshallverstärkten Version von JOHN COLTRANEs ,Interstellar Space" bezeichnet.

Mit diesem, ihrem achten Album gehen sie bis ganz zurück zu ihren bescheidenen Anfängen vor zwölf Jahren und machen zum ersten Mal das, was lose als ,richtiges" Jazzalbum bezeichnet werden kann.

Daher der Albumtitel, der übersetzt ,Jazz, frei aus dem Gedächtnis" heißt. Nachdem sie nach einer dringend benötigten Pause wieder zusammenkamen, hatten sie alle das Gefühl, dass sie das Prog/Jazz/Rock-Konzept bereits so weit getrieben hatten, wie es irgend möglich war und entwickelten das Bedürfnis, zu ihren musikalischen Kinderschuhen zurückzukehren, in denen nur Jazz auf der Agenda stand und COLTRANE Gott war.

Nun, ein wenig gereifter, ein wenig müde von schnell und laut, und nicht mehr im Zwang sich selbst etwas beweisen zu müssen und zugleich selbstbewusster, präsentieren sich die Musiker auf ihrer neuen Aufnahme vollkommen natürlich, organisch und mit großer Freude am Spielen.

Das Ziel, laut Even Hermansen, ist noch immer, die Grenze zwischen SHORTER und COLTRANE einerseits und HENDRIX und elektrischem Blues andererseits zu begehen, doch diesmal ohne die Lautstärke auf 11 drehen zu müssen.

Mit vier Neukompositionen und zwei Covern, MCCOY TYNERs ,Contemplation" und ALBERT AYLERs ,Angels" ist dieses Album ihr selbstbewusstestes, spirituellstes, ehrlichstes und komplexestes Werk bisher.[ENG] Even Helte Hermansen - guitar, Rune Nergaard - bass, Gard Nilssen - drums.

They've been called the missing link between Albert Ayler and Black Sabbath and a Marshall amp version of John Coltrane's Interstellar Space.

With this, their eight album, they go all the way back to their humble beginnings some twelve years ago and for the first time do what can loosely be dubbed a "proper" jazz album.

Hence the album title which translates "Jazz, From Memory" in English. Getting back together after a much needed break from the group, they all felt that they had taken the prog/jazz/rock concept as far as they possibly could, and had a strong urge to go back to their music school days when jazz was on the agenda and Coltrane was God.

Being a bit older and more experienced, a bit tired of fast and loud, less to prove and more confident, the new studio sessions proved to be the most natural, organic and all around joyful they have done.

The goal, according to Even Hermansen, is still to explore the link between the Shorter/Coltrane world on one side and electric blues/Hendrix on the other, but without having to turn it all up to eleven.

Sporting four originals and two cover versions - McCoy Tyner's "Contemplation" and Albert Ayler's "Angels" - this is easily their most confident, spiritual, heartfelt and fully realised album so far.
