Augustinas Gritsus (1899. 12 December. Šiupyliai, Gruzdžiai parish, Siauliai County - 1972. 28 February. Vilnius) - journalist, writer, novelist, playwright, translator, public figure.

1921-1923 studied Anthony Sutkaus acting studio.

1923-1927 studied at the University of Lithuania.

1924-1927 worked in the theater "Werewolf." From 1921 - the agency ELTA Fellow, 1927-1940 newspaper "Lithuania" and "Echo of Lithuania, 

1940-1941 newspaper" Soviet Lithuania "and" true "journalist. 1939-1940 - Chairman of the Lithuanian Union of Journalists. 

1941 exiled to Siberia, imprisoned in the region of Altai and Yakutia. 1942 Justas Paleckis initiative was released from exile, he lived in Russia, he returned to Lithuania 1944. 

1944-1945 he worked for Art Affairs Board of the Lithuanian SSR Council of Ministers, 

1946-1949- Vilnius and Kaunas puppet theater of the literary department, 1950-1955 - Lithuanian Writers Union literary consultant.
