PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This is a TV Tuner set/kit that is compatible with any hp or Compaq brand laptop computer or home computer that has a 54mm expresscard slot, and that is running Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8.
DETAILS: This tuner card can be used to receive analog signals using a TV antenna that is connected with a cable to the tuner's coaxial cable connection cord (included) when there is an available antenna signal available. You can also transfer old video and audio to your PC's hard drive using the RCA/ S-video cable (included). The tuner receives Analog (not digital broadcast signals like used in US); however it will transfer processed digital video through the coaxial interface cord to your laptop. It does not independently (without a coaxial antenna connection) pick up signals out of the air. If the card is not being used exclusively to transfer video to your PC's hard drive, it's suited for use at home or in an RV - NOT located in the US or another country where analog signals are not available - where an antenna connection through a coaxial cable setup is available.

* RECEIVE TV SIGNALS IN YOUR RV OR WHILE TRAVELING: Receives analog signals, so it can be used any where you might travel in the world to receive TV channels using your laptop (where analog signals are broadcast).
One Caveat: You can use the tuner card with a laptop in your RV to receive signals, but you'll need to be within range of a station's signal and have a decent external TV antenna and a coaxial connection cord, to connect the tuner card to the signal through the short coaxial-connection cord we include with the tuner.
* WATCH DISH, DIRECT TV OR OTHER CABLE TV ON YOUR LAPTOP: Can be used with the RCA or s-video transfer cable to watch and/or record any signal available on any TV with RCA or S-video output (using either Windows Media Center or Quickplay).
* SAVE OLD VIDEO ON YOUR HARD DRIVE: Can be used to transfer and record any type of old videos to your laptop hard drive. This is a great device for saving all your home movies or your video collection to your laptop hard drive or to an external hard drive attached to your laptop.
* BRAND COMPATIBILITY: Works with any hp or Compaq brand of computer that has an expresscard54 slot and that is running XP Pro Media Center 2005, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. See the compatibility list below for a sampling of the models we believe have an expresscard slot and that the tuner will work with (provided the device has one of the aforementioned operating systems).
COMPATIBILITY WARNING: This won't work with systems running XP Pro, unless it's the 'XP Pro media center 2005' edition (not just xp-pro with a standard media center features).
