This auction is for 10 New Raw / Plain Steel Replacement NUTS for Vintage Bicycle Saddles to attach the pan to the springs and spring to spring connections. If old Patina matters this Raw Steel Hardware is Good looking with Performance to Match. These Style Nuts were typically used from the TOC Safety Wood Wheel era through the Ballooner era, on leather and cloth early single rail seats, Schwinn and other prewar long spring, and some post war saddles. The Nuts are 5/16" x 20 tpi (odd) thread Half / Jam Nuts with a 1/2" drive head similar to originals. Nuts are Gray Raw / Plain Steel and comes oily and have some rust protection at first, once the oils gone they can rust, thus making this our top choice for Rat Rod Cruisers and Patina Bikes. Greats for rusty spring sets and blending. The idea is New Nuts that are mechanically sound and will look old. These work with most Antique Mesinger Saddles but measure originals to be sure, but keep in mind the originals could be long gone. Mesinger used a odd thread standard that is hard to find so these nuts are quite a score. These Nuts should NOT work on Troxel and Persons Saddles with original hardware that used a Different Spec, We do sell Troxel Saddle Nuts in our ebay store. I find most all prewar long springs saddles a hodge podge of hardware and would suggest a having both types on hand.
