This listing is for a lovely 19th Century small Amberina ruffled and scalloped edge dish/bowl with a ribbed/swirl design in the glass body, c. 1885. 

  This lovely bowl has a swirl pattern winding around the body of the dish with deeply notched ruffles on the top edge that is also formed in six wide scallops.

Amberina glass was made by both Mt. Washington and the New England Glass Company. Originally called Rose Amber by Mt. Washington, this collectible colored glass later became known as "Amberina".The glass is of very high quality with rich coloring. Glass has a polished pontil.

This vibrant coloration of the glass shades from dark mahogany red to golden amber in center and features a scalloped upper edge.

The bowl is in mint condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some very faint rubbing on the base from normal use.

Measures 3 5/8" high with an overall width of 6 1/4" with a 4" diameter base. Weighs 12 ounces.
