Folkwear sewing pattern number 255. Pattern condition: uncut, factory folded and complete with instructions. This casual Jacket from the early 1950s features a clever lapel that is stitched down to form a pocket. The full back is box-pleated into the shoulder yoke and creates a wonderful trapeze silhouette. The original Jacket is made of black wool with lapels and turned-back cuffs of wide horizontal stripes in black and cream. Folkwear paired the jacket with a slim skirt that tapers to the hem, emphasizing the contrast between top and bottom. Try it in a traditional wool or silk/wool suiting with self-fabric lapels and cuffs, or play up the fun of the 1950s with a print, brocade, or matelasse for the contrasting areas.
