This is a rare CdG catalogue.

The very first  Comme Des Garçons menswear range.

This catalogue seems to have been commissioned by the Dianne Benson department store, which was the first shop to sell CdG in America.

One of the designs shown is similar to a coat that Jean Michel Basquiat wore and is being auctioned this November, 2018 -

The overcoat on the first page is very similar, with big buttons, single breasted, pockets ...and although the fabric looks to be a shiny nylon, you can see that Baquiat's coat has a cuff that has been folded up, the reverse of which has the same sheen.  Could this coat have been made as reversible, or perhaps CdG produced this style in different fabrics.

Comes with price-list and mail order form which is to be the Dianne Benson Store in New York.

The front cover has a sticker from the Comme des Garçons store in Geary Street, SF.  Published in NY by Dianne Benson Stores Ltd.

Undated, but we think 1984.

On further research we believe this catalogue was shot by Brian Griffin.
