You probably know these are great mics on all kinds of sources - piano, acoustic guitar, mandolin, drum overhead, percussion, and of course vocalists.

If you're not aware, the Telefunken ELAM 251 and AKG C12 used the same AKG capsule that is in this model. However, later versions of the 414 (the P48, C414B ULS, C414 XLS, etc.) use a newer version, which is cheaper and simpler to produce, but sounds nothing like this one. Don't be fooled by various recent AKG models - none of them hold a candle to this. And despite what the makers will tell you, nobody's been able to reproduce this capsule since they were discontinued in the early 80's.

This one is in good physical condition. Not perfect, as befits its age, but there are no major dings, scratches or dents in it. All patterns work, all switches too. About a year ago it was serviced by a respected tech, who replaced a couple of caps in the filter section that had gone out of compliance. It has a slightly lower output than another C414EB it was compared to, and it sounds lovely.
