Welcome to  Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a unique miniature display vitrine in the shape of a European sedan chair. The silver is most likely .830 Silver as the piece is European. The silver body is highly decorated on each side with three sides having an embossed design that includes a medallion with dancing figures. The sides have two beveled glass windows and there is a larger beveled glass window in the front door. There is a long brass piece inserted into two slots on each side as the carrying handles. The front door opens to expose a dark green fabric seat just below the level of the windows to use to display a small treasured item. The door has a tiny handle that turns to keep it closed. There is a mark on each of the three medallions on the left side of the left facing figure that we are not able to identify. It looks like a possible combination of letters with Roman numerals.

Measures 3 3/4" high, 2 3/8" wide (at handles), 2 3/8" deep (silver only) and 5 5/8" deep (including handles). Silver weighs 180 grams (not including handles) and 7.8 ounces (including handles).

This lovely silver sedan chair display is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. We hand polished the silver slightly leaving naturally aged patina in the deeper areas of the embossed design. The fabric seat cover reflects expected wear although it is free of any rips or tears.
