Bafang BBS01 electric bike conversion kit, 36V, 350W.

The kit has covered about 1200 miles and has been trouble free. There is slight noise when under power but nothing excessive or worrying.

If you are struggling at all and want a bit of help with your existing bike this could be ideal. Power assistance comes in after half a turn of the cranks and can be set anywhere from zero assistance to full power in a configurable number of increments. You can even run purely on the throttle but most of the time pedal assistance works best. Range depends on many factors including battery capacity, weight, hilliness and how much assistance you use.

Sale includes:
Motor unit/chainring/cranks/crank bolts
All cabling with waterproof connections
Display/controller
Throttle
Instructions
Wheel speed sensor magnet
Brake levers with electric cut-out.

You need to supply:
Suitable 36V battery (Panda ebikes supply a good variety from the UK if you don't already have one)
Waterproof battery connector
Zip ties for mounting speed sensor and tidying cable runs
Variety of allen keys and other normal tools
Pedals
Chain catcher
Bike with "standard" bottom bracket 68-73mm wide (can be threaded or not).

Installation is easy if you are already competent to perform routine bike maintenance tasks including removing cranks and bottom brackets. Basically you remove the existing crankset and bottom bracket, slide in the Bafang motor and tighten the fittings. Bafang can supply special tools but you can do the job with an adjustable Mole wrench. You then mount the display/control unit (don't over-tighten), connect up the colour-coded wiring, secure the speed sensor and wheel magnet, connect the battery, connect the brake levers and you are done. There should be enough space to clear any gear cable runs under the bottom bracket. Don't worry about there only being one chainring as the power from the motor means you don't need multiple chainrings. The chain line will probably be slightly further out than the standard set-up so might well need a chain catcher device to avoid the chain dropping off the chainring. You do need the brake levers with the electric cut-out provided as otherwise power stays on for a moment after you stop pedalling. Just a slight pull on either brake lever cuts the power instantly. You can fine tune settings such as wheel size and number of power increments up to a maximum of 9 (currently set at 700c wheel and 5 increments).

No buy it now price and no reserve.
