Stunning Very Large French Figural sculpture by XAVIER RAPHANEL

"Bonne Pipe"

A stunning beautifully large modelled bronzed patinated metal  figure mounted on ebonised wooden bases, fully marked Xavier Raphanel & France, Circa 1920-40

A very unusual find, signed Xavier Raphanel, entitled "Bonne Pipe" no edition marks. (We have seen similar styled modern copies- this is not one of them and is a vintage piece). Beautifully modeled fisherman with cheeky smile and cup and pipe. We love his bare feet on the craggy rock stand!

The base is a heavy turned wood, attaching the sculpture with a bolt- A top quality item.

Condition- Very good, there are small areas of patina missing, and wooden stand has some scratches and hairline cracks at front and some pitting in line with age and use.

Size =  height 25.5 inches  63.75 cms) & base diameter 6.9 inches , ( 17.5 cms).
