consists of one, 7.75", 171-page hardcover book in orange cloth with black titling, without dustjacket; presumed 2nd printing, 1926 (1925). Alice in Orchestralia is a 1925 children's novel by American composer and radio producer Ernest La Prade (1889–1969). A girl named Alice visits a symphony concert and, through the portal of a tuba's bell, enters Orchestralia, where a bass viol escorts her and introduces her to a variety of animated musical instruments. Carroll C. Snell (illustrator); beautiful b/w illustrations in Art Deco style; originally published in Great Britain as Alice in Orchestra Land.  German born, American conductor and composer Walter Damrosch has written the foreword: "Alice in Orchestralia is but another Alice in Wonderland, for the author takes us in delightful fashion into the heart of that most wondrous land of all - the land of music. Alice is to be envied, for there is hardly anything about a modern symphony orchestra - its make-up, its functions, its manner of speaking that universal language of human emotions - that she does not learn in such a beguiling way that one might swear that it had been written by the whimsical and immortal author of the original Alice in Wonderland.".
