This listing is for a beautiful 19th Century high quality miniature painting on porcelain portrait of young woman and bouquet of roses. Portrait is mounted in a gorgeous dore bronze Napoleon III frame with ribbon tied into a bow at the top with swags of flowers on each side. The round frame has a ribbed design with X's equidistant around the frame. Frame has a brocade fabric covering the back and has an easel for standing and a ring at the top of frame for hanging. The painting is signed with unidentified French artist's name on left side of portrait.
Frame measures 5 1/8" long and 4" in diameter. Portrait site measures 3 1/2" in diameter. Weighs 3.4 ounces.
The porcelain is in very good Estate condition with no noted flaws, however, there is a thin line around the outside of the portrait on the left side where the portrait surface doesn't quite cover the background. The portrait surface has probably slipped slightly exposing the background. This is only noticed with magnification so we haven't opened the frame to try and remedy this. The frame is in excellent condition with nice bright finish.
