This Spyderco Bob Lum Tanto HAP40 was an exclusive run for Blade HQ and extremely limited. We hope you enjoy this knife as much as we do!

We consider Bob Lum to be one of the greatest knife designers and we're ecstatic to be able to work with Spyderco on an exclusive run of Bob's classic Lum Tanto knife. We wanted to create a knife that was as unique and special as Bob.

The hollow ground tanto blade features a HAP40 core, clad between 2 layers of SUS420. HAP40 is an advanced, high-speed tool steel know for its exceptional toughness and high abrasion resistance. SUS420 is a stainless steel that gives the finished blade increased strength and improved corrosion resistance.

To round out the design, we chose textured Natural G-10 scales. We love the near-translucent quality of this material and how it showcases the handle’s skeletonized stainless steel liners.

Bob Lum was the first American custom knife maker to introduce the tanto blade to western knife circles. Bob’s legacy as a knife maker and his passion for Asian-influenced cutlery, combine exotic materials and clean flowing modern lines.
