An original Civil War letter including the cover dated 1864 from Augur General Hospital.  The cover appears to have the send to address of Ludlow Vermont.  In one area it says,..........I will asail myself of the present opportunity on writing you a few lines to let you know that I am still alive.............I have got a very good place here to this hospital much better than out to the front whear the little blue pills are flying around ones head..................I wish you would sit down & write me all the particulars you can about old Ludlow for I am lonesome not hearing any thing about my old native place................from your Brother Oscar Augur Gen Hospital near Alexandria .......Virginia
