HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR A REPLACEMENT INNER BOOT FOR THE 2003-2004 JEEP WRANGLER MANUAL TRANS A LONG TIME
I HAD SOMETHING THAT WAS CLOSE LAST YEAR & SOLD A FEW BUT MANY DIDN'T LIKE IT
I CAME ACROSS THIS ONE THAT MAYBE A BETTER FIT AT A CHEAPER COST
JEEP DISCONTINUED THE OEM BOOT & PLATE.

IF YOU HAVE A 2003-2004 WRANGLER & WANT OR NEED TO TRY AND THEN GIVE DETAILS ON HOW IT WORKED, IT WILL HELP OTHERS IN THE SAME BOAT
I NO LONGER HAVE AN ORIGINAL BOOT/PLATE # 52109771AA  TO TEST THIS REPLACEMENT SO I'M ASKING ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO GIVE THIS A SHOT.
(SEE COMMENTS  BELOW AS JEEPER'S HAVE TRIED & IT FIT WITH SLIGHT MODIFICATIONS)
CHECK SIZE IN THE PICTURE TO MAKE SURE WERE CLOSE. AGAIN I HAVE NOTHING TO MATCH IT UP WITH SINCE THEY ARE DISCONTINUED & SOLD OFF MY LAST OEM COVER/BOOT ASSY I HAD
IF I RECALL THE SIZE, I THINK THIS ONE WOULD BE A GREAT CANDIDATE TO WORK AS A REPLACEMENT
THIS IS A TRIAL TO FIND A REPLACEMENT SINCE THE JEEP OEM IS DISCONTINUED & IT WAS PRICED AT $180 DEALER RETAIL
IT'S ABOUT 6 1/2" WIDE BY 8" LONG

SHIPS 1ST CLASS MAIL TO ALL USA ADDRESSES

SENT 2 OUT TO THE FIRST TRYING THIS
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE & PICTURED ATTACHED (SEE PICTURES #4 AND 5)

The boot worked great.

I just drilled new holes and reused the original sheet metal screws. (Also had to used metal plate)

The lower right hole I filled with silicone, it had no metal under it.

Used a hammer to round the sides a little once it was screwed down.

NOTE: IT'S NOT EXACT BUT IT'S THE CLOSEST I HAVE FOUND THAT WORKS THE BEST... AGAIN MODS REQUIRED

2ND FEEDBACK ON AN INSTALLATION:::
I do think the metal plate could be a little narrower about a half inch narrower and it would seal better but I bent it down to correct it The only other issue I have is that it's trying to pull it out of 3rd gear (I CALLED HIM & HE HAS A BODY LIST. ALSO HE THINKS WITH TIME IT MAY LOOSEN UP THE BOOT. WILL UPDATE IF I GET MORE INFO.)
ALSO, WITH TALKING TO HIM THE BOOT DIAMETER OF THE HOLE FOR THE SHIFTER IS SLIGHTLY LARGER. HE FEELS A TIE-WRAP WOULD WORK)

AS MENTIONED, THIS IS THE CLOSEST, WE HAVE COME TO WORK ON THE 2003-2004 TRANS. NOT PERFECT BUT CHOOSES ARE LIMITED TO SEAL UP WHEN THE FACTORY BOOT FAILS

ANOTHER FEEDBACK POSTED 5/15/20
Greetings Friend!

I purchased one of these bad boys for my 2003 TJ and MAN - it is PERFECT. Sure it's a little tight but with a 6" lift, the relationship of the transmission to the body shifts up and back and so I was actually able to mount it 180 degrees out and it covered the hole, including the notch I had to snip out of the rear stock opening. This is a great replacement piece and if you'd like to post this to the listing, please be my guest - I am recommending this to all my TJ guys!

RECEIVED THIS BELOW ON SEPT 8, 2020 AND ADDED HIS PICTURE TO THIS LISTING
I purchased your inner boot conversion as a replacement for the 04 Wrangler OEM part no longer being manufactured, and remembered your listing asking for others comments about how well it works.
Just got done installing mine, and it seems to be working well. Had to redrill holes in the floor pan and one in the boot plate, and used a hammer to curve it slightly. Seems to be working great, didn’t notice any fumes or heat coming in. I did notice that the boot hole is slightly larger than the shift arm so it’s not a perfect seal, but it’s close and if needed I could put a zip tie around it. However as I said, no heat or fumes coming into the cab. I’ll include a picture of it installed, and hopefully this helps others.

Thanks again!

Hey thanks again. I actually only used the rubber and cut out my old ripped seal and placed the cage over the new seal!
