----- VERY RARE PRINT -----
At 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, June 23, 1862, following a secret fourteen hour, 52 mile journey, the most famous officer of the confederacy arrived at General Lee;'s Headquarters near Richmond, Virginia to meet the new Commander of the Army of Northern Virginia and to attend the "High Meadow Council". General Stonewall Jackson, tired and dust covered, waited in front of the Dabbs House until General Lee was available. In a few minutes General Daniel H. Hill rode up and was startled to recognize his brother in-law, who so far as anyone knew was far away fighting Yankees in the Shenandoah Valley. General Lee appeared and for the first time since the war had begun, the two men who would come to symbolize the Confederate struggle, met. As General Lee greeted General Jackson and General Hill, two other division commanders came riding up, Major General James Longstreet and Ambrose P. Hill.....
