For the card title, the #'s listed are: first for the sticker side (using a dash, " - ", for two player combos) and, after the slash "/ ", the stickerback side #.

Unlike other stickerback years, 1988 wax packs included gum. Whether this packaging or the softer card stock are contributing factors, it's common to have an impression line across the middle on the stickerback card side of two player (separate sticker) combos.

The Topps sticker sets from 1988-90, also OPC 1988-89, are complicated and confusing. These can be described as two different sets in each year, depending on the side viewed. The 1988 set of stickers with yellow borders can be peeled off. The reverse side is a set of stickerback cards, with 66 "SuperStar" (SS) players with red backgrounds for ALers and blue for NLers. Blank backed if the sticker is removed. #67 is the SS checklist.

Since the 'SS' cards all have multiple versions of stickers on the reverse side, an average more than 11 per. there are actually well over 700 different 'cards' in total. Some variations are particularly challenging.
