the fabric used to create this textile is block printed, and uses the wonderful madder brown dyes ~ the colors are gorgeous~ this textile was printed using hand carved wooden blocks and the tiny picotage ( tiny dots) were added using a block with tiny metal pins ~ the floral pattern is beautiful~*~There is a hand stitched seam running down the middle where these panels were hand stitched together ~ The fabric would have had a slight polish as it was originally printed as a chintz ~ popular furnishing fabric as it was thought that the sheen helped not to attract dust~*~ There are storage marks on this panel, however in my opinion, they do not detract from the beauty of this textile, simply adds to the charm. The ground is so wonderful, it would be a shame to wash this textile and brighten the wonderful muted tone~ ! There are many small holes in this fabric so it should be backed for projects or lovely as a curtain ~*~ Light weight cotton, ideal for framing, light projects ~*~ ( textile ff 369)
