This gorgeous textile is an antique, 18th century French toile , printed in Nantes c1790. One the reverse is the last bit of a makers mark! ~*~  This pattern is called Telemaque et Calypso . Scenes of a nymph and her suitor was derived from a painting of 1722 by Jean Raoux. This textile is backed in a plain heavy hemp and there is a light cotton batting between the layers. This piece has nail holes surrounded by rust, so was certainly nailed to a bed! ~ Please use the zoom feature to view condition closely ~*~   ( toile 201)
