Miami County, Indiana

New! 180-Page Booklet

Early days in Miami County, are recalled in this new 11" x 8.5" plastic comb-bound booklet, printed on quality 20# paper.  The booklet is a reprint of History of Miami County Illustrated by John H. Stephens, originally printed in 1896. A vinyl sheet protects the front cover.

Our 180-page booklet has 2 pages on each page, so it actually includes some 360 pages of the original text. As part of our USA series of county history reprints, we have entitled it:

Miami County Indiana USA

Among the subjects discussed are: Physical Description; Indians, Chiefs and head men of the Miamis, Story of Frances Slocum, Miami (Indian) language, Political history, Pioneer life, Military history (including names and ranks of Civil War officers), Schools, Canal and Railroads, Court incidents, Churches, and the city of Peru. There is also a section on each township, including: Pipe Creek, Perry, Erie, Washington, Union, Deer Creek, Allen, Jackson, Richland, Butler, Clay, Harrison, and Jefferson.

Although this booklet does not include individual biographies, it does mention a lot of names, and personal sketches by: Jabez T. Cox, John W. Eward, Rev. Ernest E. Neal, Nelson W. Miller, Abraham Betzner, Charles M. Fillmore, H. V. Passage, clem Graves, Charles R. Hughes, Joseph H. Larimer, Joseph A. Nicoles, Rev. B.F. Cavins, John H. Runkle, Charles Palmer, Col. H.F.
