[BUDDHIST MONKS, TIBET, NEPAL, PHIL BORGES PHOTOGRAPHY]

On offer here is an ORIGINAL PHIL BORGES GELATIN SILVER PORTRAIT PHOTO OF THE NOTED BUDDHIST MONKS 'LOBSANG' & 'TENSIN'.  The older of the two monks was imprisoned for 21 years during which time he lost a friend. The young boy Monk shown, Tensin is ostensibly a reincarnation of the lost friend of Lobsang.

The museum quality image is stamped with an embossed stamp bearing the # and the limitation of '40'. The image is also signed and dated on the reverse as shown. The shadow box presentation shows well and protects the image.

The caption below which is printed on the presentation glazing reads as follows:

Lobsang and 66 fellow monks were imprisoned in 1959. When released 21 years later, he was one of only three survivors. While in prison his best friend, a Rinpoche, died in his arms. Tensin was later discovered to be the reincarnation of that friend. Lobsang said there are so many characteristics of his old friend in the young boy.
