Свадебные песни записанные М. Шпис в этой книге включены в список объектов нематериального культурного наследия Псковской области.
Мария (Мися) Романовна Шпис - русская художница, подданная Германии. Много раз приезжала в Печорский край (входивший в те годы в Эстонию),
где писала картины, собирала русский фольклор, жила и в самих Печорах и в деревнях, всегда нуждалась материально и очень хотела получить право
на жительство. Но эстонские власти отказывали ей в этом. Она послужила прототипом художницы Марии Карловны Шмид в «Повести о стихах»
Юрия Иваска, также жившего в то время в Печорском крае.

The book is really old, which printed 83 years ago, but not modern reprint or more late re-edition. Very Fine condition, clean book without stamps,
registrations, underlines and blots, rare small spots, bruised corner of one page, traces of time (see pictures).
Wedding songs recorded by Maria Spies in this book are included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of the Pskov region.
Maria (Mysya) Romanovna Spies is a Russian artist, a subject of Germany. Many times she came to the Pechora region (who was in those years in Estonia),
where she painted pictures, collected Russian folklore, lived both in Pechory and in the villages, always needed financially and really wanted to get the right
for residence, but the Estonian authorities denied her that. She served as the prototype for the artist Maria Karlovna Schmid in "The Tale of Poems" by Yuri Ivask,
also living at that time in the Pechora region.
Первоначально я предполагала написать всю „Свадебную игру", т. е. последовательно описать развертывающееся действие во всех его подробностях и деталях.
Но это оказалось мне не по силам. Во первых, т. к. все это записывалось лишь со слов 2—3 „самых знающих" баб, роль „дружки", пожалуй самая ответственная,
мною не настолько усвоена, чтоб я могла ее хорошо передать, а во вторых — не справиться со временем, т. к. выход в свет этой книжечки приурочен мною к выступлению
Городкщеских баб со „Свадебной игрой" в Риге. Поэтому я решила ограничиться лишь песнями, т. е. самой существенной частью игры, с указанием, когда они в течении
действия поются. Особенности псковского говора, т. е. „цоканье", я пыталась сохранить, а также и все „неправильности" речи, кот. существенны для характера данной песни.
Насколько эта запись действительно соответствует той „Свадьбе", кот. игралась в прежние времена, я судить не берусь. Это просто сбор, подсчет того, что сохранилось от неё
до нашего времени, у самых „помнящих старину" Городищенских баб. Также не знаю, насколько Городищенская свадьба соответствует свадебным играм других местностей,
хотя бы того же самого Петсерского уезда. Древнее-ли там, новее-ли, лучше-ли, хуже-ли ? Во всяком случае такая „Свадебная игра" сама по себе настолько интересна,
и как художественная ценность и как документ русской самобытной народной культуры, что очень стоило бы сравнить уже имеющимся записи и записать все, что еще
не забыто по всем другим деревням русской культуры. М. Шпис, село Городище, Апрель 1936 г.
Initially, I intended to write the entire “Wedding game", that is, to consistently describe the unfolding action in all its details and details.
But that turned out to be too much for me. First of all, since all this was recorded only from the words of 2-3 “most knowledgeable women, the role of" buddies " is perhaps
the most responsible, I was not so assimilated that I could convey it well, and secondly, I could not cope with the time, since the publication of this booklet was timed by me
to speak city women with the “Wedding game" in Riga. Therefore, I decided to confine myself to songs, that is, the most essential part of the game, indicating when they are
actions are sung. I tried to keep the peculiarities of the Pskov dialect, that is, “clattering”, as well as all the “irregularities” of speech, the cat. essential to the character of this song.
As far as this record really corresponds to the “Wedding”, the cat. Was played in the old days, I don’t presume. It’s just a collection, counting what was left of it up to our time,
at the most “remembering old times” of Gorodishchensky women. I also don’t know how well the Gorodishchensky wedding corresponds to the wedding games of other places,
at least the same Petseri district. Is it older, is it newer, is it better, is it worse? In any case, such a “wedding game” is in itself so interesting, and as an artistic value and as
a document of the Russian original folk culture, which would be very worthwhile to compare the existing records and write down everything else not forgotten in all other
