First edition of 1637 of this treaty of sea right by the danish storiographer, phylologist and politician Joannes Isaac Pontanus (1571-1639), disciple of the astronomer Thyco Brahe.
Pontano moved in France and in Holland where he lived in the cultural political climate where he elaborated the theories of international right expressed in this work, a confutation of the theories about closed sea by John Selden.
In appendix the text dedicated to navigation "De Ophyra" by Gaspar Barreiros (m. 1574) and "Problemata nautica" by Bartholomaus Keckermann (1573-1609).
