Offered here is a super cool and Rare piece of aviation history for bids. It is a Large 12" x 18" photograph of the legendary Ford Trimotor plane produced from 1925-33. This is an old photo, but not exactly sure how old. Came from an estate of an aviation collector. When found, it was in a frame, and was definitely there for a long time. The frame was damaged, and not worth saving, but the photo is still Wonderful...
I have been researching for some time now, trying to find information or photos of this particular plane, as it looks to be an extraordinary one. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find much of anything. Here's what I do know...
Total production of Ford Trimotors was only 199. As of 2012, only 18 are known to still exist, and 8 of those are still operable. They featured  corrugated body panels for strength, but created a lot of drag, which affected performance...
Like I said earlier, I believe this plane to be a special one. I believe this to be an original Press photo. Perhaps a first production, or sales display piece. It is fully decked out with either "hand hammered" or "engine turned" parts that include special engine covers, hub caps, wheel fenders, front body panels, suspension, etc. This was one Beautiful plane! I believe it was taken at the original Ford production plant due to all the other Trimotors in the background. There is even a very early tow tractor next to the plane! Looks to be a 1920's vintage. Perhaps a Clark or maybe enen a Ford...
This is an amazing piece of history, and probably belongs in a museum. Who knows, maybe the is the only known photo of this plane!
Remains in great condition for your collection. Put it in a great frame, and it will be Stunning wherever you hang it. Don't miss out!
