This is an antique gilt silver and decorative cloisonne enamel dip pen in it's own box.
Believed to be of Russian origin.
I have spent 3 days googling this and can only find them to be Russian.
Long and thin, with beautiful foil back and matt enamel floral and triangle decoration within fine twist wire.
There are two marks on the silver which I cannot identify.
Makers intials in a rectangle I.X. then an oval mark which has some marks in it which I cannot make out. Looks very Russian to me.
The nib in situ is a vintage example (William Mitchell CALLIGRAPHY nib).
The end of the pen is dome shape and plain silver.
The box it comes in is burgundy in colour with a cream silk and green velvet interior. It has no jewellers / retailers name inside...it has red and blue ink stains on the cream underside silk from the nib.. so the pen has been used.
The pen measures approx 6. 1/4 inches in length not including the nib and approx 1/4 inch width.
The pen is in very good condition with very little age and use wear, only minor wear to exterior. A very nice item.
The pen sits on a raised green velvet base which has a slight inset for it ...and it looks really fabulous like this.
It will look much better in your collection of Fountain pens - Calligraphy dip ink - Russian silver and gold enamel pens than it does in my collectors cabinet !
The box has a lot of exterior wear ...right hand end is stained too and fading, not great from the outside, the inside has some ink staining.
It has kept the beautiful silver gilt cloisonne enamel Russian dip ink calligraphy pen in SUPERB condition though .. so it has done its job really well.

- If you decide to return an item because you've changed your mind and there is no error in the description, return postage will not be refunded.
