Rare, large, superb, vintage 1909 handcolored map. Fascianting, detailed and very attractive period map of this area. The map is titled Borough of Morton and Part of Springfield Township. The map has some clean seperation at bottom middle along the fold, and a bit of loss there at extreme bottom. I see large Borough of Morton, and large Springfield Township and much more. I see detailed named land owners, size of buildings, named mansions, named railroads, business and industry , and much much more. There are some amazing areas on this map, many business and industry, huge industry, railroad lines , mansions, large railroad areas , trolley lines and much more. Many fascinating areas on the map. This is a vintage antique fine handcolored map, printed on thick, beautiful paper. From the very rare 1909 A.H. Mueller Atlas of Delaware County Pennsylvania. The map has printed at bottom Copyright 1909 by A.H. Mueller Company. This dates the map nicely. The map is overall in nice condition. In my opinion A.H. Mueller was the premier mapmaker of this period. I've seen many great antique county and city maps, by great names like Beers, Hopkins, Bromley, Caldwell and more, but A.H. Mueller's maps are the best. They used the best handcoloring, paper, typography, cartography and overall amazing detail. Its not a reproduction or copy. The map is an amazing and important historical snapshot of this area of Pennsylvania at this time. My photo wont show the full beauty of the map. The size is 22" by 32", great size.
