This is a group of three vellum folded documents relating to BISHOP MONKTON near Ripon in North Yorkshire. They are dated 1829 - 1867 and 1895 and all came in together so I am keeping them together.

1829 Mr Richard Rhodes and Mortgees and Mr William Coates to Mr Thomas Beckwith and his trustees. ...a conveyance two cottages and a croft at Bishop Monkton  for a term of 500 years. ...that is  LONG time. ..in theory its still running.

It has 3 sheets of vellum attached at the bottom with turned over part which has 9 wax seals on it. Lots of information on this document.

This document is approx 32 x 21 inch.

The 1867 vellum document is a Conveyance between Mr Thomas Brown and Mary his wife to Mr Richard Mawson ...freehold messuages... at Bishop Monkton near Ripon.

It has 2 bits of vellum joined with turned over bottom and 3 wax seals ... its about 27 inch x 21 inch.

The 1895 vellum document is a Mortgage between Mr R. Mawson Esq and R.W. Mawson Esq to Miss Hannah Metcalfe freehold at £275 and interest.
This document is 30 x 25 inch and only a single bit of vellum with 3 wax seals at the bottom.

Both the named Mawson's were farmers from Monkton Moor.

All documents have the embossed official seals up the side as well.

Very good official documents especially if you are related to the families or you are from this area.
