A wonderful, unique cast aluminum horse head that has been carefully hand painted and decorated with ornate leather and metal. In excellent used condition. This piece was used inside a building and has not been exposed to weather. You could use it outside if you chose since it will not rust like cast iron.
This Victorian style horse head has a lot of detail that can be seen in the pictures. There are holes at the horse's mouth where a ring could be added for a hitching post look. There are also holes in the lower base area for mounting to a post or base of your choosing. It could be made into a lamp or used to decorate your home and stables.
I purchased 6 of these cast aluminum horse heads from the estate of a man who collected unique antique & vintage western items. He had them mounted on wooden posts which I removed so they'd be less expensive to ship. They've all been hand painted & decorated with ornate leather and metal in different styles. Horse head measures 14" H (bottom of casting to tip of ears) x 10.5" L (back of neck to tip of nose) x 3.5" W. Opening at base measures 2 1/2" diameter. Weighs 4 lbs 12 oz before being packed for shipping.
