This is an IMPRESSIVE large circular Staffordshire wall plaque.

A deep edge rim which has a stepped edge with a black and white underglaze transfer design of flowers and shapes.

In the centre is a relief side profile of the young head of Queen Victoria facing right.

The back is flat and plain and it has 2 holes at the top to allow string or wire to be put through.. this wants to be fairly substantial as this pottery plaque is heavy.

It is 12 inch dia x just over 1 inch deep on the edge and Queen Victoria's profile sticks up about 2/8ths inch....it weighs about 2.25 kilos.. so the OVERSEAS shipping reflects this.

The only damage I see on it is a flake off the back at one of the string attachment holes... which is an old chip...and a manufacturing firing crack at the back centre and around the bottom edge. It is very stable and will not break any further.

Please see another Victorian period wall plaque also listed today of Sir William Huggins 1824 - 1910 English astronomer. ....which came from the same deceased estate.
