Welcome to  Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a lovely 19th Century English rosewood jewelry box with inlaid decoration, c. 1870-1880. This attractive rosewood box has contrasting banding around the top edges and intricate inlaid decoration on top. Top has small, dainty brass wire handle and inlay around the key hole. The interior of the box is lined with burgundy velvet fabric. The brass hinges are tight and the box opens and closes correctly. The locking mechanism is intact and a working key is included. Box sits on four squat round feet.

Measures 3 1/2" high, 7 3/8" long and 5" wide. Weighs 14.9 ounces.

This nice box is in very good to excellent Estate condition with the only noted flaw being an old repair in the center top where a small piece of inlay appears to have been lost. The interior fabric is clean and in good condition. Box has beautiful patina and reflects only minimal signs of normal wear.
