Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for an amazing early 19th Century hand crafted Sterling Silver serving fork and spoon set decorated with an elaborately embossed scenic Stag Hunt design. This is a very rare English silver design known to have been made by English silversmiths in the early 1800's with the most famous maker documented to have made this design being Paul Storr. Our set does not have the English hallmarks or maker's stamp and is only marked Sterling which would indicate that the set was most likely crafted in the United States. The design on the front of the silver features a huntsman with hounds and a stag and the reverse depicts a bow, quiver with arrows and hunting horn. On both the front and back of the utensil ends, the silver is elaborately decorated with a hand punched leaf design. Marked "Sterling" on reverse of each piece. No monograms.

Both the fork and spoon measure just over 9" long with the spoon being 2 1/8" wide. Combined weight is 235 grams.

This fabulous serving set is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws on either piece with only minimal signs of normal wear.
