The brief was to give the vehicle a subtle look, with the front looking sportier without sacrificing typical BMW elements. The 3 Series E36 Front was the first vehicle to be added to the range, and the popular SALBERK kidney set is now available for almost every BMW model.

The successful development of a front grill involves numerous tasks, so an attractive external design must go hand in hand with an optimal fit and material quality. The design should appear subtle but independent. This process is extensively simulated on the computer and tested and optimized several times on real vehicles.
