[iv], viii, cxxxii, 412, [2, errata] pp., complete with half title, engraved frontis portrait and all three engraved folding maps (one of which is hand-colored). Later calf lettered and ruled in gilt with black label over marbled paper boards. First edition. Very Good+ with typical transfer from maps to facing pages and within folded maps, closed tears in all three maps (each isolated to a single panel) along with a little foxing and staining. Toned contents. Scattered ink corrections to text, checkmarks on errata sheet at rear. Marbled paper rubbed and chipped along edges. The famous Scottish explorer's account of two Canadian expeditions in search of the Northwest Passage.
