For sale is a vintage book, Can’t Find A Dry Ball, by Garret Mathews. Mathews, then an award-winning newspaper columnist, spent the entire 2001 season with the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League. His book is full of humor and pathos as he chronicles the hopes, dreams and frustrations of players and coaches who were on the bottom rung of the professional baseball ladder. This 154-page hardcover book is a first edition, copyright 2002. It and its original dust jacket are in very good condition. On one of the pages, the original owner underlined the names of the players who returned for the 2002 season. See my listings for other vintage items, including historical publications.
