King Akhnatun is the first king to lead a religious revolution in ancient Egypt. By forgoing the old Gods of Egypt and taking the Atun " Sun God" as the one and only deity. In this scene the king is seated in front of the famous queen Nefertiti, whose name means "a beautiful woman has come. They ruled together in the 14 century BC. She and her husband established the cult of Atun, the sun god, and promoted Egyptian artwork that was radically different from its predecessors. A bust of Nefertiti is one of the most iconic symbols of Egypt. King & Queen are depicted holding there children while the sun god basks on the royal family.
