~ Such a wonderful find! This textile is an antique wrapper dating c1870. Fabulous and rare, printed challis. I've never seen another like it. This fabric is resist dyed !~ a remarkable find. The fiber content is wool and linen or perhaps wool silk and linen ~ The pattern is wonderful. There are black velvet accents around the cuffs and hem of the garment. The ground tone is a deep dark chocolate and this textile is lined with a glazed loosely woven cotton. A truly stunning and rare treat~ ( clothing 54)
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approximately : shoulders 15 inches , waist 30 inches , bust 34 inches, length 51 inches ~
CONDITION : This textile is in as found, not laundered condition. There is wear under the arms, some uneven fading, some small holes, some splits, etc however, generally and for it's age and use this textile is in remarkable condition. It does show signs of time and use to be expected, however it's in lovely condition for age and use ~
